Interesting projects on GitHub/April

Published on May 1, 2012

A few noteworthy open source projects i started following on GitHub in april:

  • Meteor, uncovered last month and discussed profusely everywhere, is now covered by an MIT license. Looks still a bit scary for the amount of communication protocol details it hides from the developer and for the complete lack of access control on requests performed from the web client to the application DB. Also, it seems that only MongoDB is supported at the moment. link
  • Heist, small scheme interpreter written in Ruby. link
  • Repository for testingbenfordslaw.com, nice project about the Benford’s Law, not been updated in a while. link
  • Slick Grid, as the author says “a lightning fast javascript grid/spreadsheet”, we’ll see if one day i’ll find a use for this. link
